Question Time at Green Top
27 March 2014 Councillor Rachel Durant attended Thorne Green Top Primary School to talk to pupils about the Neighbourhood Plan, answer questions from teachers and pupils and work with young people and teachers to complete the questionnaires. Ground Force
26 March 2014 Councillors Rachel and Susan Durant accepted Green Top Primary Schools invitation to plant flowers in the Memorial Park. Pupils wanted to plant in the park to take the first step towards a more appealing community. Funding accepted for making the Plan
17 September 2013 Moorends Community Gala August 2013 The steering group talked to young people about their vision for Moorends, what sort of community they wanted to grow up in and what was important to them t make them feel safe and happy locally. Thorne Summer Festival
27 and 28 July 2013 Steering Group members attended the Summer Festival to provide information about Neighbourhood Planning and where housing should be built in Thorne and Moorends. We also displayed Green Top's leaflets and work on Litter and looking after the environment and invited people to comment on what their concerns are. An Afternoon with Green Top School
1 July 2014 Cllr Rachel Durant attended Thorne Green Top Primary School and went with pupils on a tour around Thorne Town Centre. We took photos of the things we liked and things that need improving and discussed how a Neighbourhood Plan can address concerns and protect the good things within our community. From this session pupils created a leaflet to address concerns regarding litter and the importance of our environment. Launch of the Neighbourhood Plan website - April 2013

22 March 2013 Town Councillors spring cleaned Thorne Town Centre to raise awareness about Neighbourhood Planning. Councillors were able to talk to local people about the Plan and how the Council and Community can work together.
